Recycled PET yarn uppers

The upper portion of Öffen shoes is made of recycled yarn from used PET Plastic bottle. The separated and collected used PET Plastic bottle is cleaned, sterilized, and crushed into small chips at a factory specializing in recycling. By further heat-treating and spinning, it is reborn as recycled PET yarn.

Washable polyester material

Made of high-quality polyester material, it can be washed with water at home.

Plant-based shoe keeper

We created an original shoe keeper derived from botanicals to wear shoes for a longer time. It comes with all shoes. The shoe keeper that comes with Öffen shoes is a plant-based biodegradable plastic derived from corn and cassava starch, so it can be returned to the soil.

No shoe box packaging

Öffen has no shoe box. Instead, we wrap your items in a square towel called “wrappy towel,” which can be used like a furoshiki (traditional wrapping cloth). By opting for a furoshiki-style towel, rather than a box or bag, we take advantage of the benefit of being able to carry your items without the need for a paper bag.
