OGIO Sustainability Actions

Published first sustainability report

Topgolf Callaway Brands, which includes OGIO, published its first sustainability report in 2022. The report was meant to give a clearer picture of how the company handles social and environmental issues and to set a baseline for future progress. It was prepared with reference to GRI standards (Global Reporting Initiative, a common way companies report sustainability data) and covered the 2021 financial year. The company said the report focused on four areas: people, planet, product, and procurement.

Released updated 2022-23 report

In 2024, Topgolf Callaway Brands released its 2022-2023 sustainability report. The update said the company had made progress since its first report and continued to work on energy, water, waste, product design, and supplier practices. It also said the company had increased renewable energy use at its Carlsbad headquarters to 60% in 2023 and was expanding recycling and lower-impact materials across its facilities and products.

Reduced packaging plastics

The company said it has been changing product packaging to use less single-use plastic. It also said it is increasing the use of recycled and recyclable materials where possible. This matters because packaging waste can add up quickly, especially for shipped goods. The company framed this as part of a wider effort to make products and packaging less harmful over their full life cycle.

Expanded supplier oversight

Topgolf Callaway Brands said it works with suppliers through audits and code-of-conduct checks. Its 2022 report said the company uses regular and sometimes unannounced site audits, plus third-party audits, to check social and environmental standards. It also said it had consolidated manufacturing partners over time so it could build closer long-term relationships and keep a better watch on responsible sourcing.

Improved energy and waste use

The company said it has been trying to cut energy, water, and waste across its operations. It reported that its Carlsbad headquarters reached 60% renewable energy use in 2023 and that some facilities use onsite solar. It also said it keeps looking for ways to divert waste from landfill through recycling. These steps sit under its wider planet strategy.

Used circular product ideas

The company said it is moving toward a more circular approach to product development. Circular means keeping products and materials in use for longer instead of throwing them away quickly. It said it is working on lower-impact materials, product reuse, and design changes that can reduce waste. Earlier reporting also mentioned a trade-in, repair, and donation program to extend product life.

Tracked water use and wastewater

The company said it tracks water use at its facilities so it can spot ways to save water and improve wastewater management. It also said it is working with operations teams and suppliers to manage water more responsibly. This is part of its broader effort to reduce environmental impact in manufacturing and related operations.

Set human rights supplier rules

In its first sustainability report, the company said suppliers must follow its human rights policy and supplier code of conduct. It also said suppliers must meet rules linked to the Transparency in Supply Chains Act and the UK Modern Slavery Act, which are laws aimed at reducing forced labour and hidden abuse in supply chains. The company said it audits suppliers to check compliance.

Supported communities and diversity

The company said it supports communities through charitable giving and volunteer work. It also said it wants to engage more diverse groups in golf and has strengthened partnerships to do that. In its earlier reporting, it said a large share of new management hires came from diverse backgrounds. These actions sit under its people strategy.
