One Nature LLC Sustainability Actions

Founded in 2004

Founded in 2004 by Bryan Quinn, One Nature’s earliest projects were art and design competitions, ecological consulting gigs, and small garden installations.

Sells native plants

We cultivate and sell "more-than-organic" native, edible, and medicinal plants at our retail center and for custom grow clients. Many of these plants are sourced from local genetic populations or varieties specifically suited to thrive in our local climate.

Uses regionally sourced materials

We focus on using bioregionally sourced materials like locally quarried bluestone, hand-gathered fieldstone, native hardwoods such as oak and black locust, and regional gravel. These choices reduce carbon emissions while shaping a distinctive, grounded aesthetic.

Never uses chemical inputs

We never use chemical fertilizers or herbicides. Everything we do relies on organic practices that protect soil, water, and public health.

Conducts stewardship services

We are committed to the ongoing care and management of outdoor spaces. Our stewardship efforts focus on enhancing ecosystems, fostering biodiversity, and maintaining the health of the landscapes we oversee.

Donates annual revenue

Since our founding, One Nature has donated a significant percentage of our annual revenue each year to people and organizations aligned with our vision for a more ecocentric, equitable, and interconnected global community.

Supports low-cost nursery stock

Last year, we started selling plugs again. This is another example of how we tweak our nursery business model over time to help achieve our environmental agenda.
