OTTO Group presents sustainability as part of its corporate strategy and reports on progress in a combined annual and sustainability report. It states that it goes beyond legal requirements, complies with the German Supply Chain Act, and defines requirements for business partners and internal processes through policies and a Code of Ethics. The group also operates a Compliance Management System and a whistleblower system, SpeakUp. In 2022, it committed to developing a near-term Science-Based Target for its entire value chain, which was validated by the Science Based Target Initiative in February 2024. The company says climate protection and socially responsible business practices have been part of its strategy since 1986.
