PACT Dogs Ltd Sustainability Actions

Certified B Corp in 2023

In April 2023 PACT was certified as a B Corp with the highest impact score for any business in the sector. As far as we are aware this has yet to be surpassed. This was a reflection on our broad approach to sustainability, from selecting venues, teaching sustainable dog training, promoting diversity, and selecting partners and suppliers we’d align with.

Joined Business Declares

The climate crisis cannot be solved by governments and non-profits alone. It’s why we’ve become a Certified B Corp, joined Business Declares, and support the Better Business Act.

Built a nature-rich venue

Our main practical venue in Hampshire used to be an ecological poor horse paddock, years of love have created a venue flourishing with nature and environmental best practice. Wildflower meadow with training spaces, composing toilets for humans, compost bin for dog poo, over 1,300 native trees and hedges planted, wildlife ponds and trees, bus stop outside and close train links, repurposed welfare cabin for refreshments, solar and wind powered Tea and Coffee!!!

Hosted Dogx sustainably

Dogx is (possibly) the worlds most sustainable dog conference. Hosted at the highly sustainable BREEAM Excellent and WELL certified University of Winchester West Downs Campus. Winchester is on the main tramline from London, we promote public transport to attendees and put on an electric vehicle Park and Ride. During the event we avoid waste, providing bamboo lanyards with name tags contain wildflower seeds for people to plant at home. The event is low carbon and welfare friendly throughout, with 100% plant based refreshments and wellbeing quiet spaces for attendees.

Offset Dogx travel emissions

After each Dogx we estimate and offset the carbon of this event and all of the attendee/speaker travel by making a donation to the Woodland Trust Carbon Fund.
