Persephone Brewing Company Sustainability Actions

Integrated onsite farming

Our “farmhouse” approach integrates onsite farming in support of local food security, regenerative agriculture and amazing beer (i.e. “farm to table AND farm to barrel”).

Composted brewery outputs

We currently compost all spent grain, hops and yeast from the brewery and are developing systems to reclaim brewery runoff for crop irrigation and energy consumed in the brewing process.

Grows organic vegetables

Our market garden areas and greenhouses are dedicated to the production of organic field vegetables. Our partners, Farmer Dan with help from PBC and SCACL employees, growth a plethora of goodies. And, our veggies go directly into our food served onsite!

Cultivates barley and rye

Our two largest fields cultivate a modest but important crop of barley in the summer and rye in the winter. These fields may also share space with apple trees, pumpkins and pole beans.

Shares an apiary

We share a small field turn apiary with Kathleen from Roberts Creek Honey. She’s an amazing bee keeper, growing superb honey much of which we use in a couple of our beers.
