Quinn Foods Sustainability Actions

Joined Soil Carbon Initiative

In March 2023, Quinn announced its participation in the Soil Carbon Initiative (SCI), a new program from nonprofit Green America. SCI incentivizes farmers to improve soil health, biodiversity, climate resiliency, and farm economics. SCI and Quinn are working together to quantify the impacts of their work with farmers transitioning to regenerative agriculture.

Worked with regenerative farmers

Since 2020, Quinn has worked with Nebraska sorghum grower Steve Tucker, an SCI farmer partner, as he transitions to regenerative practices. Quinn says sorghum has been a crucial ingredient for its supply chain since the company debuted the world's first whole-grain, gluten-free pretzels in 2016.

Achieved B Corp certification

On November 7, 2023, Quinn announced that it had been certified as a B Corporation™ (B Corp™). The B Corp verification process administered by the nonprofit B Lab measures a company’s social and environmental performance and requires a minimum verified score on the B Impact Assessment.

Launched ingredient transparency

Quinn says its Ingredient Transparency policy allows consumers to trace each ingredient Quinn sources in its products. The company says it has been committed to climate-friendly agriculture practices and ingredient transparency since day one.

Rolled out Climate Friendly label

In September 2022, Quinn announced it had achieved the Climate Friendly product attribute from HowGood, an independent research company with the world’s largest ingredient sustainability database. Quinn said it would begin to roll out the first on-pack Climate Friendly label on its snack products in 2023, and that products receiving the attribute have greenhouse gas emissions lower than 70% of all products assessed by HowGood.
