RMIT University presents sustainability as an organisational priority, embedded across teaching and learning, research, governance and operations. Its Sustainability Committee oversees sustainability performance and the University’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. RMIT says its approach includes dedicated plans covering climate change adaptation, carbon management, circular economy, sustainable transport, sustainable procurement and sustainable retail. The University also publishes a Sustainability Annual Report in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative and states that it is a signatory to the UN Global Compact. Its sustainability content emphasises accountability, governance, partnerships and the integration of sustainability into core university activity.
