Founded R4S in 2010

Raimon Puigjaner, Pablo Sánchez and Pep Tarifa founded Roots for Sustainability (R4S) at the end of 2010 to help address the social challenges of the global economy. Our early years were therefore focused on laying the foundations: building our value proposition, developing our methodology, establishing our position and earning credibility in a market where generating positive impact was not yet part of the business mindset.

Launched inclusive recycling projects

We launched our first international inclusive recycling project as a sustainable business model in Chile and Brazil, while also developing similar initiatives in Barcelona.

Brought B Corp to Spain

We brought the B Corp movement to Spain and were appointed Country Partner of B Lab® Europe. In 2019, we founded B Lab® Spain.

Co-founded Skills4Impact

We expanded our activities and became R4S Group through the co-founding of Skills4Impact, our initiative dedicated to developing talent in sustainability and digitalization.

Published a sustainability guide

The Sustainability Action Guide for Companies in the Children’s Sector has four main objectives: to emphasise the importance of companies putting sustainability at the heart of their decision-making; to outline the techniques that can be used to generate business sustainability strategies with a holistic vision; to illustrate with practical cases the reality of companies, of a multi-sectoral nature, which can serve as a reference for incorporating sustainability at the heart of organisations; and to provide templates, resources and tools that facilitate the implementation of good practices in terms of sustainability in organisations.
