Samsara Eco is a circular materials biotech focused on plastics and textiles. Its AI-powered enzyme platform breaks down end-of-life materials, including complex and mixed plastics and textiles, into their original building blocks so they can be remade into virgin-quality materials. The company has positioned its work around circularity for performance materials, with a particular focus on recycled nylon and textile-to-textile recycling. Its collaborations with outdoor and apparel brands are presented as a way to scale access to recycled materials, reduce barriers to adoption, and support a more circular materials system.

Launched Nylon Materials Collective

Australian biotech, Samsara Eco and the European Outdoor Group (EOG) today launched the Nylon Materials Collective, a collaboration designed to make high-performance, virgin-identical recycled nylon accessible to more outdoor brands and accelerate the industry’s shift toward a truly circular textiles future. The Nylon Materials Collective will unite outdoor brands, supply chain partners and materials leaders to remove common barriers that can slow the adoption of recycled materials.

Created recycled nylon garment

Through its partnership with lululemon, Samsara Eco created the world’s first fibre to fibre recycled nylon 6,6 garment in the Swiftly, long-sleeved top. The company said it had been working in close collaboration with lululemon for the past 12 months and described the result as a step forward in demonstrating how its technology addresses the challenge of textile waste.

Expanded collective with OIA

Samsara Eco announced the expansion of its Nylon Materials Collective, welcoming the Outdoor Industry Association alongside Burton, W. L. Gore & Associates, Black Diamond Equipment, Red Wing Shoe Company and Big Agnes. The Collective now connects a network of an additional 100+ outdoor brands that are part Climate Action Corps and Clean Chemistry & Materials Coalition.

Showcased recycled nylon samples

Samsara Eco said it would showcase its recycled nylon material samples at ISPO Munich 2025 as part of the formal launch of the Nylon Materials Collective.
