Sendra’s sustainability-related content centres on circular economy, ESG and supply-chain regulation. The material highlights the business case for circular design, the impact of EU developments such as the forthcoming Circular Economy Act, and the use of Cradle to Cradle Certified® approaches. It also points to operational changes in manufacturing, including reducing material use, recycling byproducts where possible, and reviewing procurement with environmental criteria. The available content suggests an emphasis on adapting products, sourcing and manufacturing processes in response to sustainability requirements and regulatory change.

Sendra Sustainability Actions

Renewable electricity in the UK

Back in 2023, as an example, we made the decision as a business that all of our electricity in the UK would be from renewable sources.

Reduced material use

We also have a continuous improvement workstream where we look to carry out continuous reviews of our processes and things that we've improved. As part of that are looking at how we reduce the amount of material that goes into the products that we make.

Design and tooling changes

Sometimes that is working with customers and perhaps changing their design. Other times it is around designing improved tooling so that our castings are customized, so we put less material into them, which therefore means there's less machining afterwards and therefore less material that then goes away for recycling.
