APCO (Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation) Member
Supporting the Government's initiative to reduce packaging waste going to landfill, we joined APCO and committed to transitioning all our consumer packaging, where possible, to 100% recyclable alternatives. We are proud to report that the majority of our range has now made that move — and our efforts have been recognised by APCO, who assess us as operating at Beyond Best Practice.

Operational Initiatives to reduce our environmental footprint
In late 2021, we moved to new state-of-the-art manufacturing and distribution facilities — and from day one, sustainability was central to how we set up and operate. A bespoke cardboard packaging machine supports our transition to recyclable packaging. Autonomous mobile robots have near-eliminated paper-based order picking. Electric forklifts — powered by our rooftop solar — have removed diesel from our facility floor. And a commitment to recycling across all materials underpins everything we do.

Sleep Corp Sustainability Committee Established
Formalising our commitment to sustainability, we established a dedicated Sustainability Council to drive change across every part of the business — from raw materials and product production, to packaging, distribution and day-to-day operations. The Council ensures sustainability remains a standing priority, not an afterthought.

Annual Community Clean Up Day Initiated
Each year, upwards of 60 Sleep Corp® team members come together to clean up our local area — clearing rubbish and waste from the streets, creek and park surrounding our Melbourne facility. Interstate team members participate too, taking on clean-up efforts in their own local communities. What began with Clean Up Australia in 2022 is now an initiative embedded in our own culture, run independently each year.

Solar power installed at our new manfacturing facility
Having run on solar energy since 2020, the move to our new Melbourne facility in late 2021 required us to carefully assess our new machinery's power output before reinstalling. By May 2022 we had made the switch — and have been running on solar ever since. Across our three most recent reporting periods, our solar system has saved an estimated 309.7 tonnes of CO₂-e — the equivalent of removing 72 cars from the road, planting 5,162 trees, or avoiding 134,663 litres of petrol. Numbers we are proud of, and committed to building on.

As a foundation member of Sustainability Tracker since 2022, we are committed to full transparency — giving our customers clear, honest and up-to-date visibility of our sustainability journey, the progress we have made, and the work still ahead of us.

Australian Bedding Stewardship Council - Top of Bed Working Group
Sleep Corp® is an active participant in the Top-of-Bed Working Group led by the Australian Bedding Stewardship Council (ABSC) — working alongside industry peers to develop recycling infrastructure for top-of-bed materials across Australia. We have also independently identified a potential partner for recycling returned products and manufacturing off-cuts into household goods, an initiative we are actively continuing to develop. This forward-looking work reflects our belief that end-of-life responsibility is just as important as how a product is made.

Sleep Corp® is proud to have been nominated for the Sustainability Tracker Impact Awards 2026 — Innovation Award
Sleep Corp® is proud to have been nominated for the Sustainability Tracker Impact Awards 2026 — Innovation Award. The Innovation Award recognises organisations developing novel technologies, business models or practices that address sustainability challenges in ways that go beyond existing industry solutions. We believe our nomination reflects the innovative choices we have made across our business — from our exclusive use of Fresche®, a plant-based antimicrobial technology that is harmless to people and the environment across its entire life cycle, to our transition of the majority of our packaging to 100% recyclable cardboard made from at least 50% recycled materials — recognised by APCO as operating at Beyond Best Practice. Add to this our Industry 4.0 facility operations and our active participation in the Australian Bedding Stewardship Council's Top-of-Bed Working Group, where we are helping to shape recycling infrastructure for an entire product category that currently has no end-of-life solution. Finalists will be announced in September 2026, with winners revealed at the Sustainability Tracker Impact Awards event in November 2026. We look forward to sharing the outcome.
