Soqtapata is presented as part of a rainforest conservation project in the Vilcanota Corridor, with activities described as biodiversity research, sustainable agriculture, and community-led ecotourism. The source content frames the project as an integrated system in which the forest, cacao, research, and visitors support one another. It also refers to work across indigenous communities in the Peruvian Amazon and describes conservation as inseparable from local livelihoods and traditional ecological knowledge. The available material positions Soqtapata within a broader nature, community, and land stewardship model rather than as a standalone commercial brand.

Soqtapata Sustainability Actions

Rainforest conservation project

At SOQTAPATA Rainforest Conservation Project in the Vilcanota Corridor, 9,600 hectares of biodiversity research, sustainable agriculture, and community led ecotourism operate as one integrated system. The forest protects the cacao. The cacao funds the research. The research attracts the visitors. The visitors become advocates.

Worked with indigenous communities

Our work across 312 indigenous communities in the Peruvian Amazon has taught us that conservation fails when it stands alone. It succeeds when it becomes inseparable from how people actually live: the premium terroir cacao that carries the signature of an intact forest, the ecotourism that transforms researchers and visitors into stakeholders, the education systems that transmit traditional ecological knowledge while building pathways to global opportunity.

Integrated preservation model

This is what we call Productive Preservation Economics. Not charity. Infrastructure.
