South Pole is committed to reaching net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across our value chain by 2040. Our near-term target is to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 72% by 2030 from a 2019 base year and commit to reducing scope 3 emissions from air-related business travel 91.5% per FTE by 2030 from a 2019 base year. South Pole further commits to reduce all other absolute scope 3 emissions from business travel 27.5% by 2030 from a 2019 base year. In line with South Pole’s goal to achieve net zero GHG emissions, our long-term target is to reduce absolute scope 1,2 and 3 emissions 90% by 2040 from a 2019 base year.
