Studio Pia presents itself as a luxury lingerie brand with sustainability and ethics at the forefront of every decision. Its ethical ethos emphasises reducing and offsetting environmental footprint, the ethical treatment of people and resources throughout the supply chain, and the use of organic and recycled materials. The brand says its collections are ethically crafted in the UK and Europe, with production by a modern lingerie atelier in Romania. It also highlights cruelty-free peace silk, organic cotton jersey, and a tree-planting scheme with Ecologi linked to each product sold.

STUDIO PIA Sustainability Actions

Uses organic and recycled fabrics

Collections are constructed using some of the finest fabrics. We focus on using materials that are classified or certified organic and recycled. Our peace silk is produced in India by fairly paid and highly skilled artisans. Peace silk is a type of silk made without harming or killing silk worms, instead allowing them to complete their life cycle and producing silk from the hatched cocoons. Paired with our silk is organic cotton jersey, produced to the highest environmental and social standards.

Introduced recycled tulle base

In 2021, we introduced a certified recycled tulle base for our embroideries made from recycled post-consumer waste, which we use in a minimum of one range per season.

Plants a tree per product sold

For every product sold on our site, we plant one tree with Ecologi. By planting trees, we hope to help offset our carbon footprint. Since launching our tree planting scheme in 2019, we have planted a total of 21,055 trees, helping to create a healthier climate, protect biodiversity and help reforestation efforts worldwide.
