Strategic acquisition to expand local precast capacity

In May 2026, SVC completed the acquisition of Frankston Concrete Products (FCP), an established Victorian precast manufacturer specialising in concrete pipe, stormwater and special application pits. This strategic expansion broadens SVC’s civil product range, increases local manufacturing capacity and secures sovereign supply for essential infrastructure. Integrating FCP’s operations under SVC’s ISO‑certified management system creates opportunities to standardise lower‑carbon mixes, recycled aggregates and waste‑reduction practices across a larger portfolio of precast products.

ISO Management Systems across expanded operations

SVC maintains ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) certification across its operations, with systems being extended to integrate newly acquired facilities. These certified management systems provide a structured framework for monitoring resource use, emissions, waste and safety performance, and for driving continuous improvement in environmental and social outcomes as SVC scales its precast manufacturing capacity. You can check out all three ISO certifications in the Evidence Tab of our Sustainability Tracker profile.

Life-cycle thinking

Adopting a life-cycle mindset helps us to think about the entirety of our environmental impacts, including those which are directly within our control in addition to those that we may not be able to control, but can influence. Integrating life-cycle thinking into our business operations helps us to apply a meaningful EMS that has significant benefits across our supply chain and for the communities in which we operate. This includes using natural resources more efficiently and sourcing them carefully. Read more about this in our Sustainability Charter.

Scaling recycled plastic aggregate in civil products

SVC has successfully incorporated a lightweight aggregate made from recycled plastic waste into the production of all standard Civil products batched in‑house, including pits, lids and associated assets. By substituting a portion of natural stone with recycled plastic aggregate, SVC reduces demand for finite virgin materials, diverts hazardous plastic waste from landfill and lowers the embodied carbon intensity of its civil precast range without compromising structural performance.

Technology & innovation

We embrace new technologies and approaches to manufacturing precast concrete in order to stay abreast of new opportunities to reduce our environmental impact, while becoming more efficient and effective in our work. Read more about this in our Sustainability Charter.

Reusing, repurposing & recycling

We seek to close the loop in our value chain wherever possible and identify opportunities to embrace more sustainable practices. This helps us to reduce waste, integrate recycled materials within our supply chain and reduce costs. Read more about this in our Sustainability Charter.

Decarbonisation

We recognise the significant impact that concrete production has on global GHG emissions and we are committed to prioritising carbon reduction strategies and leveraging the opportunities that exist to reduce our emissions throughout our business operations. Read more about this in our Sustainability Charter.

Toxicity mitigation & pollution control

We are committed to mitigating risk associated with pollution, contamination or hazardous materials in our manufacturing process, while also avoiding the use of toxic materials in our supply chain. Read more about this in our Sustainability Charter.

Lower‑carbon concrete and SCMs in precast mixes

SVC prioritises lower‑carbon concrete mixes by increasing the use of supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) such as fly ash and slag in its precast formulations. By partially replacing Portland cement with SCMs, SVC reduces the embodied carbon of its concrete products while maintaining strength and durability required for civil and stormwater infrastructure. This approach supports specifiers and contractors seeking to meet project‑level embodied carbon targets and broader net‑zero goals in the built environment.

EcoPebble and recycled content in landscape products

SVC’s EcoPebble concrete pavers and landscape products incorporate recycled waste materials, reducing reliance on virgin aggregates and diverting industrial by‑products from landfill. By designing aesthetic, durable landscape solutions with recycled content, SVC demonstrates that circular materials can meet both performance and design expectations in public realm and residential projects.

EcoPebble and recycled content in civil products

SVC is a trusted supplier to Victoria’s Big Build, providing precast concrete pits, access covers and drainage assets for major road and rail projects across the state. This role requires compliance with stringent Department of Transport & Planning (DTP) specifications and Australian Standards, reinforcing SVC’s position as a local manufacturer supporting critical public infrastructure.
