Released 2023 GSR report

We’re excited to share the latest milestone on our sustainability journey—the release of our 2023 Global Sustainability Report (GSR). Our second sustainability report compiled on a global scale, 2023’s GSR tells the story of what we accomplished in our journey toward continuous improvement in sustainability practices.

Completed DMA in 2023

In 2023, we undertook a comprehensive Double Materiality Assessment (DMA). This crucial evaluation is in direct preparation of the upcoming Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) – a required reporting mandate that will take full effect in the European Union in 2025.

Installed energy-saving measures

At the production level, significant energy-saving measures were implemented at our Nijverdal dyeing and finishing facility. These include the installation of heat exchangers, optimization of the hot water network, a new climate control system, and steam network renovations.

Developed Ecogreen fabrics

To meet the ever-growing demand for eco-friendly protective workwear, TenCate Protective Fabrics has developed three ground-breaking products over the past 10 years: Tecawork® Ecogreen, Tecasafe® Ecogreen, and most recently, the world’s first sustainable FR-treated fabric: Tecapro® Ecogreen.

Saved water in supply chain

For every meter of Tecasafe® Ecogreen XL9300 sold, we save 40.000 liters of water in the supply chain. We’ve sold over 4 million meters of this fabric to date.

Used recycled and sourced fibres

Ecogreen products feature recycled polyester and/or sustainably-sourced TENCELâ„¢ Lyocell fibres.

Published EPDs and certification

All our sustainable fabrics come with an EPD®, an Environmental Product Declaration. ... Besides proving that we’ve truly lowered our impact and allowing us to make external claims, it also offers customers a simpler way to compare products. ... we’re STeP by OEKO-TEX® certified, level 3.
