B Corp certification achieved

In May 2023, The Onlii reached its goal of becoming B Corp certified. The company says the values and principles of B Corp were a blueprint for its business, and that certification requires a business to prove that it is creating a positive impact for the environment and society, assessed across Governance, Workers, Customers, Community and Environment.

Built sustainability into foundations

The company says it built sustainability into The Onlii’s foundations, and that it runs through everything it does, including how it operates as a business and its creative output. Its business strategy is aligned to seven of the United Nation Goals (UNSDG’s) that it feels it can directly influence in a positive and genuine way.

Invested in sustainable training

The Onlii says it continues to invest in sustainable marketing training for its team and is constantly seeking out innovative ways to meet its sustainability goals. Every person at The Onlii has a PDR objective aligned to a UNSDG that they are passionate about and feel they can influence.

Joined 1% for the Planet

The Onlii is a member of 1% for the Planet and says it is committed to donating at least 1% of its annual sales directly to environmental organisations. In 2023, its donation went to Big Blue Ocean Clean-up, and it also provided pro bono creative for Just One Tree in addition to its financial donation.

Carried out EEDI assessment

The company says it is actively committed to embedding Equity, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion within all aspects of its business practice. It has already carried out its first cultural assessment, and is developing a robust EEDI strategy, as well as metrics to measure progress. Its first assessment showed a leadership team that is 1/3 female and BIPOC, with a 50% non-British background, neurodivergency within the team, and almost a 50/50 gender split.

Shared B Corp learnings

The Onlii says it wants to help other businesses at the start of their B Corp journey by sharing its learnings and challenges. It says it is already giving free advice to businesses who are interested in becoming B Corp certified, and is open to sharing access to the communities and networks it has built.
