The certification reflects its dedication to responsible business, fair labor, and sustainable materials. Positive Impact Pledge

TBCo took a Positive Impact Pledge in 2019, which includes donating 2% of its revenue to charity each month, split as 1% for the people and 1% for the planet. The company says this pledge supports environmental and humanitarian charities and is part of its commitment to positive impact.

Donations to charity

In 2020, TBCo said it donated over £60,000 to humanitarian and environmental charities. It also said it had donated $400K+ to charity since 2020 through partnerships and community-driven initiatives.

Recycled wool blankets

TBCo says its recycled wool blankets are made using wool recycled in India, and that each recycled wool blanket saves approximately six garments from landfill. The company describes these as its best sellers.

Natural and recycled materials

TBCo says it focuses on natural and recycled fibres only, and that 100% natural and recycled materials are used. It also states that the wool for its entire collection is sourced from animal-first farms in India and Inner Mongolia, and that its recycled wool range is made from 100% recycled articles of clothing.

Shipping and packaging changes

TBCo says it ships all large orders by sea, avoiding air freight. It has also printed new design gift notes on 100% recycled paper, introduced paper tape, moved from plastic to paper bubble wrap, and begun redesigning packaging gift boxes, swing tickets and product labels to be made from FSC materials and repurposable where possible.

Treeapp partnership

Through partnerships with apps like Treeapp, TBCo says it contributes towards offsetting its carbon footprint and fights deforestation through planting trees. It says the planting is performed by global NGO partners and benefits endemic species and local communities.

Pet blankets from offcuts

In 2020, TBCo introduced pet blankets using twice recycled wool offcuts that mills would otherwise discard. The company said it began thinking in 2019 about how to further use leftover fabric and offcuts from its recycled wool blankets.
