The Wisdom Council is a financial services consumer insight and engagement specialist that publishes research on responsible investing, ESG integration and sustainable finance. Its sustainability-related content focuses on investor attitudes, consumer awareness and the role of the investment industry in responding to environmental challenges. The company argues that ESG considerations should be a core part of retail investment products and default pension funds, and that firms need to communicate more clearly about responsible investment. Its work includes surveys of UK consumers, interviews with investors and advisers, and analysis of social media conversations.

The Wisdom Council Sustainability Actions

Published responsible investment research

An in-depth study by The Wisdom Council on investor attitudes and behaviours towards responsible investing shows that while 78% of consumers who are contributing to a pension feel a personal responsibility to combat environmental challenges, almost 60% didn’t realise that they can make a difference through their long-term saving and investments.

Surveyed over 2,000 consumers

The study included a survey of over 2,000 consumers, all of whom either had a workplace or private pension. The research also analysed thousands of conversations on social media and carried out interviews with investors and financial advisers.

Studied SDR labelling feedback

The Wisdom Council conducted research with customers and advisers on earlier labelling proposals on behalf of the Investment Association, and commented on the FCA’s consultation on the UK version of the Sustainable Disclosure Regime.

The Wisdom Council Sustainability Commitments
