Its sustainability approach is centred on caring for the land, supporting local communities, and working with suppliers that share its values. The brand says it focuses on energy, water, waste, raw materials, supply chains, packaging and transport, and it has introduced native plantings, cover crops, seasonal sheep grazing and low-impact packaging. Tiraki became New Zealand’s first B Corp certified wine brand in January 2023 and says it donates more than 2% of annual revenue to charitable organisations supporting environmental conservation and underserved communities.

Tiraki Ltd Sustainability Actions

B Corp certification

In January 2023, the efforts of our adventurous company were recognised as we became B Corp Certified, joining a global community of businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental impact. Proudly we are the first wine brand in NZ to attain certification.

Donate over 2% of revenue

Each year Tiraki donates >2% of our revenues to charitable organisations. We are proud to support local charities such as the Picton Dawn Chorus and Friends of Rotoiti that do amazing conservation work.

Source locally

Our priority when purchasing is to support local businesses rather than corporate colossi. We commit to source >50% of our costs from local companies.

Native planting and biodiversity

Native plantings decorate the property to increase biodiversity. Tiraki chooses suppliers that share in our values and do their best to mitigate environmental impacts.

Organic conversion

Our vineyards are undergoing organic conversion, they use eco-friendly packaging, and they donate 2% of their revenue annually to biodiversity initiatives that protect native ecosystems.
