TOTM Sustainability Actions

Organic cotton period care

Our tampons, pads, and liners are made with certified organic cotton. Unlike conventional cotton, organic cotton is grown without toxic, synthetic pesticides and uses sustainable farming methods. Our period care uses 100% organic cotton and is made without fragrance, dyes, artificial absorbents (SAP), chlorine bleach and PFAs (tested in 2023).

Reusable period care range

Our range includes reusable menstrual cups and a reusable tampon applicator (available in Tesco & Superdrug) for a zero-waste period. Designed for comfort and protection, TOTM reusables can, with care, be used for many years.

Reduced plastic packaging

To reduce plastic, we also use biodegradable cardboard applicators, in place of plastic or plant-based versions which can take 500 years to decompose, the same time as conventional carrier bags. When it comes to packaging, we use compostable or recyclable packaging wherever possible.

Renewable energy manufacturing

All of our period care products are made in the EU, in a facility that’s powered by renewable energy.

Carbon offset projects

We offset 100 percent of our business activities’ emissions through carbon offset projects. ClimatePartner supports us in calculating, reducing, and offsetting carbon emissions. The entire process is verifiable with the label “climate neutral” and our certificate.

Ocean plastic removal

In 2025 we have been working with the Biru Foundation plastic collection project, this year alone we have removed 11 tonnes of plastic from the oceans, rivers, and coastlines. Since beginning our offset programmes we have recovered the equivalent of 22,838,303 plastic applicators from the oceans, rivers, and coastlines.

Period dignity schemes

At TOTM, we’re working to improve access to these essential products through our period dignity schemes and donation campaigns. Our gift-a-pad program is designed to provide a steady flow of pads to In Kind Direct.

Workplace period access

Our Period Positive Workplace Scheme was set up to bust taboos and drive period positive change in workplaces everywhere. Through this scheme, we’re making organic cotton period care products available to anyone who needs them in workplaces and universities across the UK.
