TriCiclos Sustainability Actions

Founded TriCiclos in 2009

The company, established in 2009, was founded the goal of working to balance the three cycles (social, environmental, and financial).

Created Clean Points

The company created and operates the points for voluntary and incentive receipt of recyclable materials, called Clean Points, which comprise collection and sorting centers for up to 20 types of materials (such as polyethylene, polypropylene, PET, and glass), which, after collection, are transported for recycling.

Trained waste workers

At these sites, members of partner recycling cooperatives - service providers trained by TriCiclos - teach consumers in the correct way to dispose of each material and why this is necessary.

Included vulnerable workers

Clean Points are run by local communities, street waste pickers’ cooperatives, companies, or institutions that receive from 50 to 98 percent of the profits earned. All the people working at the Clean Points come from socially vulnerable conditions. TriCiclos either hires them as full or part-time employees or establishes partnerships with cooperatives of street waste pickers.

Expanded operations in Latin America

Currently, its parent company is divided between Chile and Brazil and already features operations in other Latin American countries.
