Named Greenest Employer

Tru Earth Environmental Products Inc. was named one of Canada's Greenest Employers for 2023 by MediaCorp Canada Inc. for its commitment to sustainability and environmental initiatives.

Employee green team

Tru Earth’s formal employee-led green team, the Critical Cause Champions, meets bi-weekly and spearheads a number of in-house education and awareness initiatives throughout the year. The team has implemented several projects, including waste reduction programs, energy-saving campaigns, and sustainable transportation initiatives.

Beach clean-ups and education

Tru Earth’s #TruEarthMovement encourages employees to get involved by volunteering for various environmentally-focused projects, including beach clean-ups and environmental education sessions in partnership with OceanWise and The Salish Sea Research & Education Society. During last year’s International Coastal Cleanup Day, Tru Earth employees and over 75 #TruChangeMakers helped clean over 925 pounds of trash from California coastlines.

Plastic container reduction

Tru Earth is a global household cleaning product organization focused on biodegradability and the elimination of waste. At its core, Tru Earth is a movement of 1 million people in 78 countries committed to combating the billions of plastic containers dumped in landfills and oceans globally each year.

Product donations

To date, Tru Earth has donated more than 20 million loads of laundry with a guiding ethos that many small hinges can swing open the very big door on climate change. Tru Earth also educates consumers on eco-friendly swaps and donates products to families in need across the globe.

Waste diversion programs

Tru Earth offers in-house waste reduction and recycling programs that go beyond municipal minimums. In partnership with Happy Stan's Recycling Services, the organization has improved its mixed paper, wood, metal, plastic, and compost recycling programs, ensuring a waste diversion rate of over 95 per cent from landfill and incineration.

Sustainable commuting

Tru Earth prioritizes sustainable commuting, offering employees access to an online carpool signup, sheltered bicycle parking, EV charging stations and easy access to public transit.

Packaging certification

In keeping with its line-of-business, the company sources product packaging and packaging papers with FSC certification, and hosts regular environmental training programs for staff.

TRU Giving program

Tru Earth’s Global Giving Program, “Tru Giving by Tru Earth”, is dedicated to addressing hygiene poverty. The company says it is formally committed to donate the equivalent of 2% of revenues or more to charitable partners each year, including in-kind product donations.
