Frucor Suntory Sustainability Actions

Published a sustainability strategy

Frucor Suntory says it has created a local sustainability strategy for Oceania to support its new multi-beverage business. The plan is built around three pillars: Nature, Consumer, and Community. In simple terms, this means the company says it wants to reduce harm to the environment, help people make more responsible drink choices, and build a more inclusive workplace and supply chain. It also says the local plan fits within Suntory Group’s wider sustainability strategy.

Published a sustainability report

The company says it has released a sustainability report that explains progress across its Nature, Consumer, and Community pillars. A sustainability report is a public update on what a company says it has done on environmental and social issues. Frucor Suntory uses the report to describe work on water, climate, packaging, responsible consumption, and community impact. It presents the report as a way to show how its business links to its purpose and sustainability goals.

Focused on water stewardship

Frucor Suntory says it is working to protect water resources and reduce the water used in its operations. It links this to its long-term idea of living in harmony with people and nature. The company also says it is developing a water replenishment project in Queensland’s Lockyer Valley to help replace the water used at its Swanbank facility. Water replenishment means putting water back into local systems through projects that support rivers, wetlands, or catchments.

Backed river research in Australia

Suntory Oceania announced a A$1 million partnership with Griffith University’s Australian Rivers Institute to fund research on water protection. The three-year project will study how climate change has affected Australian waterways and whether certain environmental limits, called Safe and Just Earth System Boundaries, are useful for protecting river and wetland health. This is a research-led action aimed at improving water management and informing future decisions.
