Variously Sustainability Actions

Code of conduct for artisans

Studio Variously does not support any form of child labor and discrimination. Being mutually respectful, timely and transparent in every single communication is integral to the core framework of Studio Variously. Support healthy and safe working conditions, opportunities for training and development for all artisans partners involved.

Small batch heritage production

Keeping our artisanal technique genuinely rooted in heritage traditions through small batch production is very important when prioritizing sustainability and quality craftsmanship. Good things take time, and we do not support any shortcuts in our manufacturing process.

Vetted artisan partnerships

Backed with years of research, on site visits, daily correspondence, Variously chooses to only work with vetted artisan partners currently based in India, Nepal and Peru. We began with just 6 artisans, but over time, our fair trade partnerships have grown to include over 40 skilled handloom weavers, hand dyeing experts, and hand embroiderers.

Timeless designs over trends

Studio Variously pursues small batch, high quality production by developing classic, timeless designs rather than chasing short-term trends resulting in over stock / dead stock. In line with our sustainability commitment, our designs are crafted through high-quality, small-batch production, promoting responsible and sustainable development using heritage techniques.

Source-tracked materials

Our suppliers ensure that all materials & processes are tracked to its source. During the manufacturing process, we explore environmentally conscious techniques, such as natural dyeing methods, and only use breathable materials instead of harmful, petro-chemical based materials like polyester and acrylic.
