Verdani LLC Sustainability Actions

Joined SBTi in 2018

In July 2018, in partnership with the The Science Based Targets initiative, Verdani Partners joined hundreds of companies committing to taking action to embrace climate science. In January 2021, our target was approved.

Approved emissions target

As part of our SBTi target, we aim to reduce absolute scope 1 & 2 emissions by 50% by 2030 from a 2018 baseline year. Additionally, Verdani intends to limit scope 3 emissions by internally tracking and engaging the team to minimize our overall carbon footprint.

Reduced emissions by 34%

We achieved a 34% reduction from our 2018 baseline (69% towards our goal) as of December 31, 2023.

ENERGY STAR recertification

Our headquarters earned our ENERGY STAR® recertification from the EPA with a score of 99. Our office underwent an extensive renovation that included LED lighting, occupancy sensors, and monitoring of appliances and equipment when not in use.

Green Business certification

In 2025, Verdani earned the Innovator Tier Certification for building operations of our headquarters from the Carlsbad Green Business Program and is now certified as a Green Business by the City of Carlsbad.

Completed waste audit

With the help of our strategic partner, All About Waste, we completed a waste audit of our Carlsbad headquarters. Using the results of the audit, we are preparing our application for TRUE® certification.

Launched VIBE in 2017

In 2017, we launched VIBE (Verdani Institute for the Built Environment) to lead research, education, and collaboration, transforming the built environment into a force for global sustainability. VIBE champions green building education and accelerates the adoption of sustainable practices.

Created SBC Americas

The Sustainable Buildings Collaborative – Americas (SBC Americas) is a new regional initiative, established in 2025, accelerating the transition to decarbonized, resilient, and high-performance buildings across the Americas.
