Started with second-hand clothing

At the end of the 1990s there were two guys with a big yet simple dream: to bring a touch of America to Italy. They loved sportswear, road movies, rock concerts, and so they began importing second-hand jeans, T-shirts, and sweatshirts. That was when they discovered a word that perfectly captured everything they were passionate about: “vintage.” A bridge between past and present, a way to give new life to things that already had a story.

Produces in small quantities

In 2019, we chose to start again from what defines us: passion and research. We explored the workwear, sportswear, and military styles of the 1960s and ’70s, were enchanted by textile traditions from around the world, and inspired by the timeless myths of music and cinema. Our archive, made up of garments, accessories, and materials collected over years of research, is the thread that connects every collection. That’s why we carefully choose the people we work with: Japanese indigo-dyed denim, and the finest Italian cottons and wools. We produce in small quantities, consciously.

Built twelve locations

Today there are twelve Vintage 55 locations: not just stores, but lived-in spaces, furnished with vinyl records, books, artwork, and objects collected around the world. Those who step inside find a familiar atmosphere, made of conversation, music, comfortable sofas, and people who truly love their work.
