Wilson and Frenchy Sustainability Actions

Uses GOTS-certified cotton

GOTS-certified organic cotton refers to fabric that meets the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), one of the most rigorous certifications for organic textiles. All our fabrics are dyed using GOTS-approved dyes, which are free from hazardous substances such as nickel, lead, formaldehyde, amines, pesticides, and heavy metals. We never use genetically modified seeds, toxic dyes, or synthetic pesticides.

Eliminated plastic packaging

In 2020, we committed to reducing our environmental impact by eliminating plastic packaging. All garments are now packed and delivered in compostable bags.

Uses recycled filling

Our sleeping bag filling is made from recycled polyester yarn created from post-consumer waste, such as PET bottles.

Supports local charities

We’re proud to support our local community by working with small businesses and nonprofits, including The Royal Women’s Hospital Foundation and St Kilda Mums.

Carbon neutral shipping

Using the Shopify Planet app, we ensure that all deliveries made from purchases from our ecommerce stores are carbon neutral. Every month, the Planet App calculates the total shipping emissions generated by our orders and we pay to neutralise the emissions created by the orders.

Operates in Green Star building

Wilson Australia operates in a 5-Star-Green Star rated building. Our building has been certified with the Design & As Built v1.2 certified rating. This was achieved through a strong energy rating and a 99KW Solar Panel on our roof, among other initiatives.

Uses GreenPower electricity

In June 2021, we updated our energy contract to become 100% powered by GreenPowerTM. This means our energy retailer must purchase our energy requirements from suppliers that produce 100% renewable energy.

Ran recycling pilot
