Wolvis is a Belgian knitwear label based in Ghent. Its sustainability-related activity centres on circularity, product longevity and data-driven improvements to material choices. In collaboration with the COSH! Digital Wardrobe App, the brand set up a resell and repair programme so customers can have existing Wolvis items repaired or resold. Research data also led Wolvis to review its material choices after earlier merino yarns were found to be more susceptible to pilling and breaking than yarns used in later collections. The brand is described as focusing more on quality, circularity and customer retention.

Wolvis Sustainability Actions

Repair and resell programme

In collaboration with the COSH! Digital Wardrobe App, Wolvis set up its resell and repair programme, which allows customers to easily have their existing Wolvis items repaired or resold.

Reviewed material choices

The data from the joint research, with financial support from the province of East Flanders through the Circular Chain programme (Circulaire Keten), also confirmed an important suspicion within the company: the merino yarns used in the first collections proved to be more susceptible to pilling and breaking than the yarns used in the more recent collections. Thanks to these insights, Wolvis was able to review its material choices and further optimise its business model with a greater focus on quality, circularity and customer retention.

Connected to Digital Wardrobe

COSH! members Wolvis, Spica Lifestyle, Chlues and Abelone Wilhelmsen are among the first brands connected to the app. This way, they get valuable insights about the life of the garments after they leave the store!
