Zenith Investment Partners presents responsible investing and ESG as part of investment decision-making, with a focus on materiality, transparency, long-term value creation and disclosure quality. Its sustainability content discusses climate reporting, mandatory sustainability reporting, fund labelling, greenwashing, and the role of ESG in portfolio construction. The firm also refers to its own responsible fund designations and RI classifications as tools to help advisers and investors assess funds. Across its commentary, Zenith treats ESG as an analytical framework rather than an ideological position, and emphasises that real-world risks such as climate events and supply chain disruption remain relevant to investors.

Zenith Investment Partners Sustainability Actions

Introduced RI classifications

We’ve introduced our own Responsible Investment Classifications across all rated funds. We see this as an important first step in focusing on how each fund approaches and incorporates ESG issues. We also believe that a consistent framework of identification across all rated funds will allow advisers to narrow their focus on what matters to them and their clients.

Published climate reporting views

Zenith has published commentary on the challenges of climate reporting in Australia, noting that the launch of the IFRS International Sustainability Disclosure Standards from the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) marks a significant positive milestone and sets a new baseline for sustainability-related disclosures in capital markets.

Discussed greenwashing risks

In Greenwash 2.0, Zenith said regulators are stressing that greenwash claims are eroding trust in the system, and highlighted ASIC’s recent greenwashing interventions, including fund labelling, as well as the need for more effective investment labelling and formalised taxonomies.

Used responsible fund designations

Zenith refers to its own responsible fund designations and RI classifications, which aim to provide clarity and help investors understand what purposes screens serve and how that relates to the strategy.
