Better collaboration: Amcor Flexibles worked with leading Nordics coffee producer Löfbergs, to support their goal of phasing out fossil-based plastics. Packaging innovation: In collaboration with Amcor, Löfbergs’s replaced fossil-based traditional polyethylene (PE) packaging with bio-based packaging, made from renewable sugarcane. Bio-based PE has the same technical and mechanical properties as traditional PE, and so doesn’t affect production capacities or coffee quality. Today, 57% of Löfbergs’ brick packs are bio-based. More sustainable: Using bio-based PE has reduced carbon footprint of the pack by 30%. It is recyclable, accepted in full PE streams and mixed polyolefin streams.
