AWS plans to be water positive by 2030. That means it wants to return more water to communities than it uses in its direct operations. The company says it is doing this through water reuse, replenishment projects, and better water management at sites such as data centers.

Amazon plans to have 100,000 electric delivery vehicles on the road by 2030. The target is part of its effort to lower transport emissions from package delivery. The company says the plan is supported by Rivian and other vehicle makers.

Amazon aims to reduce food waste by 50% across its Europe and U.S. operations by 2030. Food waste means edible food that is thrown away instead of eaten or reused. The company says it has already donated millions of meal-equivalents and is working to cut waste further.

Reach net-zero by 2040
Through The Climate Pledge, Amazon has committed to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2040. Net-zero means cutting emissions as much as possible and dealing with the rest through removals or other balancing methods. Amazon says this target is 10 years ahead of the Paris Agreement timeline.
