Arid Zone CSR Committee

In 2020 we formed a working Corporate Social Responsibility Committee with the task to develop and improve the way we operate as a business across all departments and our supply chain. Initiatives undertaken to date include ISO certification, EcoVadis accreditation, FSC accreditation and development of new technology systems.

Recycled Fabrics Entering Market

Our supply chain locally began to stock a wide range of recycled apparel, headwear and luggage items. Arid Zone continued to push recycled materials where possible for our custom production offshore and options available locally.

APCO Membership

Joined APCO (Australasian Packaging Covenant) - a national regulatory framework which sets out how governments and businesses across Australia share the responsibility for managing the environmental impacts of packaging.

FSC Chain of Custody Certification

Received FSC Chain of Custody Certification.

EcoVadis Accreditation

Undertook auditing across the entire business in our CSR activities and achieved a Bronze Rating. Ongoing identification and improvements initiated to increase rating for 2023 onwards.

Moved Head Office

Arid Zone moved our Head Office, Showroom and Warehouse to new facilities in Port Melbourne. The new premises enable an increase in natural lighting, with the complex fitting more in line with our sustainability goals – including future solar energy rollouts, grey water recycling and other sustainable innovations at the business park.

Arid Zone Team "Giving back" Community Days

We are working towards Implementing team-wide individual community initiatives to give back to the community and assist with charity work. This will entail every employee being given one day off work per year to actively participate in their chosen community or charity activity.

ISO Certification

Received ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management, ISO14001: 2015 Environmental Management and ISO 45001: 2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management certification.

Carbon Offset Workforce

We are working towards carbon off-setting each employee within our business by 2024 in addition to our other programs.

Plastic Packaging & Products

Substantially reduce the amount of virgin plastic used in packaging and products across the supply chain.

BCorp

We are planning to have our BCorp certification completed by 2024.
