Launched Impact Receipt

In September 2019, we painted a different ‘F-word’ on a 110m2 wall located on one of Stockholm’s busiest shopping streets. In the wake of the growing climate crisis, we felt it was time to speak frankly about fast-fashion and the far-reaching impact it has, not only on the environment, but also those working in the supply chain and on consumer behaviour.

Published product impact data

The ‘Impact Receipt’ will showcase the impact of every garment in their permanent collection, highlighting CO2 emitted, the amount water required and energy consumed for their garments’ creation.

Used lifecycle assessments

The initiative is the result of two years work, during which Asket had each item of clothing examined by the Swedish Research Institute (RISE) in a two-year Life Cycle Assessment to determine each garments environmental impact.

Introduced full traceability

Since then they have introduced full traceability of its garments’ supply chain from raw material to final garment.

Launched take-back program

Asket operates a take-back program called The Revival Program, allowing customers to return worn items so they can be revived through resale, remanufacture, or recycling, helping extend the life of each garment.

Opened repair and resale outlet

The company also actively reduces waste through initiatives like the Asket ReStore, an in-person resale and repair outlet that refurbishes and sells previously owned Asket garments, ensuring that clothing stays in circulation and avoids landfills or incineration.

Published supplier disclosures

Asket publishes an extensive public list of factories it works with, including facilities providing it with raw materials, together with its mills, trimmers, and manufacturers.

Uses preferred materials

Asket uses a significant (>90%) share of sustainability-preferred materials in its collections. It publishes a detailed breakdown of its fiber use, and its criteria for labeling materials as "Preferred" are among the strictest in the industry, classifying only recycled fibers, organic hemp, and organic linen as "preferred."

Reduced packaging impact

Asket has significantly reduced packaging-related emissions and waste through a full packaging overhaul. The majority of packaging is now FSC-certified and recyclable, though the brand continues to seek alternatives for components like box stickers and hangtags.
