Australian Bedding Stewardship Council Sustainability
The Australian Bedding Stewardship Council is a not-for-profit Product Stewardship for the mattress and bedding industry, established to manage the impacts of bedding products and materials on the environment and human health and safety. Backed by the Australian Government, ABSC looks at ways to manage these impacts over the product's life cycle by partnering with supply chain, manufacturers, retailers and recyclers to move towards a circular economy for the bedding industry. As part of the mission, ABSC has established the initiative Recycle My Mattress. This scheme aims to make the process of recycling mattresses easier for consumers, encouraging a shared responsibility for their used mattress and keeping mattresses and bedding out of landfill and off our streets.
