Barbour Sustainability Actions

Signed the Transparency Pledge

Barbour signed the Transparency Pledge in early 2021 committing us to publish our Barbour Tier 1 Finished Goods list annually. This is an important step in driving greater transparency in the fashion sector. From 2023 onwards, Barbour also shares this data on the Open Supply Hub which tags buyers on each manufacturing site’s page and allows the site to display their sustainability commitments.

Uses supplier audits

At Barbour, our Business Partners are required to meet our Supply Chain Code of Conduct and policies to uphold our ethical trade commitments for fair, safe and dignified working conditions. Our Supply Chain Code of Conduct’s labour rights commitments are based on the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) Base Code and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Core Conventions. We communicate these standards to our Business Partners and monitor their supplier manufacturing sites' legal compliance via third party audits.

Joined SEDEX

Barbour is a member of SEDEX, a social and environmental data sharing platform which allows us to access independent and comprehensive third party audit reports on factories and suppliers.
