Beds Australia Sustainability Actions

Customer Education on Mattress Recycling

Beds Australia uses its digital channels and customer touchpoints to explain why mattress recycling matters and how to access local collection services. By sharing ABSC and Soft Landing resources, Beds Australia helps raise public awareness about the impacts of dumping mattresses and makes it easier for households and accommodation providers to recycle responsibly.

Strengthened Mattress Take-Back via Soft Landing

Beds Australia actively directs customers to Soft Landing and other Australian Bedding Stewardship Council–approved recyclers to ensure end-of-life mattresses are collected and recycled rather than landfilled. Through its partnerships and customer education, Beds Australia supports the recovery of steel, foam and timber from used mattresses, contributing to significantly higher resource recovery rates across Australia’s bedding industry.

Curating Certified and Low-Impact Mattress Ranges

Beds Australia curates mattress ranges that meet independent environmental and health standards, including OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified foams and GECA-certified products. By favouring Australian-made mattresses that avoid harmful substances and meet robust lifecycle criteria, Beds Australia helps customers choose products that are safer for people and have a lower environmental footprint over their full life.
