BekaertDeslee updates its sustainability strategy for a fully integrated approach

The outcome of our Double Materiality Assessment (DMA) provided valuable insights into the most relevant sustainability topics for BekaertDeslee. These insights form the foundation of our updated sustainability strategy, built around three strategic pillars: Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG). At the heart of this strategy lies our purpose - guiding our actions and decisions as we work towards creating long-term value for all stakeholders. Each ESG pillar translates our material topics into concrete ambitions and initiatives, ensuring that our strategy is both focused and future-proof.

Let’s measure what matters

How do we truly know if one fabric or cover is more sustainable than another? And how can we prove it, objectively? At BekaertDeslee, we believe the answer lies in transparency, backed by science. That’s why we developed our Carbon Compare tool. It calculates the full Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) of a fabric or cover, considering every stage of its Journey, from raw material sourcing, transport, and manufacturing, all the way to end-of-life. The tool has been third party verified against ISO 14067
