Launched denim recycling program

Cotton Incorporated launched the Blue Jeans Go Greenâ„¢ denim recycling program to encourage denim recycling, generate awareness for cotton sustainability, and create opportunities to make an impact in communities.

Diverted denim from landfills

Since the program’s inception in 2006, over 2,290 tons of denim have been diverted from landfills.

Recycled millions of pieces

With nearly 4,580,000 pieces of denim recycled through the program so far, Cotton Incorporated will continue to grow its ongoing commitment to recycling by reducing textile waste.

Created new uses for denim

When you recycle your old denim through our program, we help transform it into creative new products, from insulating material for building efforts to pet bed inserts to thermal insulation used in sustainable food and pharmaceutical packaging.

Promoted the Every Piece Pledge

Every Piece Pledge. Make a lasting commitment to recycling and wearing sustainable clothes with the Every Piece Pledge. It's a small step and a helpful reminder that denim, made from cotton, can be recycled and transformed to do good for the earth.

Partnered with Anthropologie

Anthropologie announced their collaboration with Cotton Incorporated's Blue Jeans Go Greenâ„¢ program. Beginning today, Anthropologie customers are invited to bring in their pre-loved denim to any of the brand's 200+ US retail locations to be recycled into insulation materials used in various applications through Cotton Incorporated's consumer sustainability program.
