Became a B Corp

Since July 2024, by-bar has officially become a B Corp-certified company. B Corp-certified companies are committed not only to profit but also to making a positive impact on people and the planet.

Published 2024 impact report

The 2024 Impact Report offers an honest account of progress, highlighting the milestones achieved and the areas where there is still work to do. The company says transparency is key to driving real change and to holding itself accountable.

Created sustainability team

Since the beginning of 2022, by-bar has established a dedicated sustainability team solely committed to realising its sustainability objectives.

Added product QR codes

For some time now, QR codes have been placed on many products. They allow customers to follow each item’s journey and the conscious choices made along the way, from the origin of the materials and the craftsmanship to the people who bring it to life.

Offset direct emissions

For 2023 and 2024, by-bar offset its direct emissions and business travel by investing in certified climate projects. This included supporting the development of wind energy in Izmir, Turkey, and a household project in India.

Introduced recycled packaging

In 2025, the shipping bags in the warehouse were made from 100% recycled and FSC-certified paper. The shipping boxes are still FSC Mix-certified, and the company is working with its packaging partner towards a fully recycled alternative.

Obtained product certifications

Since January 2025, by-bar has obtained several certifications, including GOTS, OCS, RCS, GRS, RWS, RMS, and RAS, which it says underline its dedication to sustainability and social responsibility.

Converted cotton styles

A large part of the cotton styles has been transitioned to fully GOTS-certified products. The company says these items are produced using significantly less water, without harmful substances and under better working conditions.

Launched product journey platform

At the beginning of 2024, by-bar started working with tex.tracer, a platform that brings transparency to every step of the production chain. Today, almost all styles come with a QR code, allowing customers to follow the journey of the item and meet the people behind the product.
