Dockers Sustainability Actions

Care Tag For Our Planet

As part of the Care Tag For Our Planet initiative, Levi’s and Dockers brands began including messaging on all product care tags encouraging consumers to “wash less, wash in cold, line dry, and donate when no longer needed.” The program also strives to educate consumers with water-saving cleaning tips.

Dockers WellThread collection

Levi’s Waste Less™ jeans, composed of a minimum 20% post consumer recycled content from an average of 8 plastic bottles, as well as Dockers’ WellThread collection both demonstrate how brands can turn sustainability considerations and challenges into opportunities for innovation, impact and proprietary storytelling.

Sustainable fiber sourcing

During FY21, 95% of our cotton was organic, recycled, or Better Cotton. 100% of all manmade cellulosic fibers were sourced from Canopy Green Shirt-rated suppliers, 100% of all down was sourced from Responsible Down Standard-certified suppliers, and more than 35% of all leather was sourced from Leather Working Group-rated suppliers.

WaterLess production

Following its 2007 life cycle assessment, Levi’s set out to develop the apparel industry’s first “waterless” jeans. Four years later, this resulted in the launch of Levi’s Water

Better Cotton Initiative

In 2005 Levi’s helped found the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), which strives to make cotton more sustainable by reducing water inputs and promoting other more sustainable growing techniques. The standard calls for in-the-field training, support and measurement of production methods to help farmers reduce environmental impact while increasing efficiency and productivity.
