Island-wide eye camps

Sustainable retail certification

On May 5 2025, Spectrum Eyecare was awarded the Synesgy Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Certificate through its parent company, Leong Lee International. The certificate assessed performance across Environmental, Social, and Governance pillars using methodologies aligned with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Spectrum Eyecare said it earned an ESG score of 85% and a “B – Good” rating.

Recycled and biodegradable materials

When Spectrum opened its flagship store in Thao Dien, it prioritised the use of recycled and biodegradable materials. It also said it curates eyewear from brands that prioritise sustainable materials and ethical production, and that its accessories are designed to minimise waste while it explores ways to minimise its environmental footprint across packaging, logistics, and day-to-day operations.

Community eyewear redistribution

The Spectrum Community Outreach Programme collects pre-loved eyewear frames and redistributes them to underserved communities across Vietnam. Each child receives a thorough eye exam, followed by customised lenses tailored to their needs. To date, the programme has reached four communities, served over 300 students, and gifted more than 60 pairs of glasses.

Reduced air freight shipments

To reduce its impact on the environment, in the first quarter of 2023 Sight Sciences reduced its use of weekly air freight shipments and consolidated shipping to fewer monthly or bimonthly shipments using sea freight.

First sustainability report

On June 10, 2024, Sight Sciences published its first Sustainability Report, highlighting the Company’s sustainability activities, performance, and results from the last three years. The report includes environmental initiatives, social responsibility, and governance practices, and provides data for 2021 through 2023 on the Company’s environmental, social, and governance initiatives.

Women in Leadership initiative

In 2023, Sight Sciences launched a Women in Leadership initiative to encourage, support, and empower women to take on leadership roles. As of December 31, 2023, nearly 50% of its workforce was comprised of women, and four of its eight board members were women.

Indigent care support

From 2021 through 2023, Sight Sciences supported 25 indigent care programs in over 10 countries.
