Lourdes New York is associated with sustainability and ESG content connected to New York City initiatives, urban resilience, and public-health-oriented community work. The material highlights work on environmental justice, climate action, sustainable infrastructure, and the use of the UN Sustainable Development Goals as a framework for local projects. It also references collaboration between government, private-sector, philanthropic, and community stakeholders to advance decarbonisation, mobility, food security, and waste-related goals. The brand’s sustainability-related presence is therefore tied to city-focused initiatives and partnerships rather than a standalone product-led ESG programme.

Lourdes New York Sustainability Actions

PlaNYC action plan launched

PlaNYC: Getting Sustainability Done action plan was launched in April this year for a “cleaner, greener and more just city”. It focuses on environmental justice through bold, swift action to reduce our contribution to climate change and protect New Yorkers – especially our most vulnerable – from impacts we are already experiencing.

Waste and solar measures delivered

We have already accomplished several goals, including delivering a report on waste containerisation, expanding organics smart bins, expanding solar tax abatement for NYC residents, and launching a climate innovation hub. These were achieved within five months, with more to come.

Stakeholders engaged on plan

We engaged more than 240 stakeholders representing labour, transportation, energy, buildings, housing, conservancies, green economy, and infrastructure. We also analysed and incorporated NYC Speaks Data and held roundtables with stakeholders and members of our Sustainability Advisory Board.
