Sustainability Summary
- This is an unclaimed profile. The Crafty Bird has not joined Sustainability Tracker to verify their sustainability credentials. We gathered what we could from public sources.
The Crafty Bird is a Wiltshire-based craft business selling faux fur pom poms, hand dyed yarn, patterns and related knitting and crochet supplies. The available content does not set out a formal sustainability strategy, but it does show practical steps in the business such as using recycled boxes and envelopes for packaging, using bamboo or aluminium crochet hooks in kits, and planning kits and patterns that use recycled yarn. The brand also offers wholesale for pom poms and yarn and stocks products through a number of craft retailers. Most of the sustainability-related information appears in the context of product sourcing, packaging and materials rather than a wider ESG policy.

2020
Introduced sewing and dyeing
During the pandemic in 2020, I was furloughed for a bit and then made redundant from my job in Emergency Planning. I decided to diversify and learnt to sew and to make project bags, and my yarn dying friends encouraged me to learn to dye too.
2021
Moved business to Wiltshire
I was able to move across the country in 2021 to Wiltshire and make The Crafty Bird my whole life!
2024
Introduce recycled yarn kits
Introduce some new kits and patterns which use recycled yarn - this one is exciting!
