Achieved Fair for Life certification

Traditional Medicinals announced it has achieved Fair for Life certification as a brandholder, joining one of the world's most comprehensive and rigorous standards for social responsibility, environmental sustainability, and ethical trade. The certification examines every step of the supply chain from cultivation and wild collection to processing, manufacturing, and distribution, to ensure fair working conditions, just compensation, and environmental responsibility.

Expanded sustainability leadership

Jamie Horst joined Traditional Medicinals in 2019 as the Chief Purpose Officer and manages sustainability efforts including risk assessment, Zero Waste Project, regenerative and carbon strategy, and supply chain data management. In January 2022, her role officially expanded to include the Human Resources team.

Reached 50 years of impact

Traditional Medicinals celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2025, marking five decades of dedication to plant medicine, sustainability and innovation. The company said that in the past decade alone, Traditional Medicinals and its foundation have invested over $20 million in communities worldwide.

Launched Herbs for All

As part of its 50th-anniversary celebration, Traditional Medicinals highlighted Herbs for All, an initiative dedicated to increasing access to herbal wellness and education. The program includes the Planting Wellness workshop series, funded by the Traditional Medicinals Foundation, which partners with nonprofits to empower communities through hands-on learning about the benefits and uses of herbs.

Invested in community education

The company said it has invested more than $200,000 in broadening access to high-quality herbal wellness through community education programs. It also said Herbs for All has awarded over $75,000 in grants to nonprofit partners advancing health and herbal wellness access in their communities.

Used FairWild and organic sourcing

Traditional Medicinals said it was the first U.S. manufacturer to market a range of organically grown herbal teas and the first globally to label products with FairWild Certified ingredients. It also said its approach centers on Organic, FairWild, and Fair for Life certifications working in tandem.

Worked with EcoCert

Traditional Medicinals said it is partnering with Fair for Life certifier EcoCert to develop shared educational resources for consumers. The collaboration is intended to address the awareness gap around Fair for Life certification and clarify what comprehensive certifications mean.
