McV - Manufacturer Claim Verifications
ProductionGreenTag McVs enable manufacturers to make environmental, health, resource and ethical claims about their products that have been checked and verified accurate by an independent third party certification body. Such recognition is recommended by the ACCC as a way to avoid breaching Australian Consumer Law and the ACC'C's own 'greenwash' guidelines. The types of claims that can be assessed are many and varied, but common ones include "Includes X% Post Consumer Recycled Content', 'Australian Manufactured', 'Biodegradable', 'Compostable', 'Bio-Plastic' etc.
