Fursac is part of SMCP’s sustainability strategy, which is organised around three priorities: SMCProduct, SMCPlanet and SMCPeople. The Group says it aims to design traceable and more responsible collections, reduce its carbon footprint and impacts on biodiversity, and strengthen employee well-being and professional development. Fursac is identified within the Group’s brand-level sustainability approach as “Tailoring the future”. The available content also shows the brand’s participation in a long-term regenerative agriculture programme in Uruguay through the NATIVA™ Regen label, alongside the wider SMCP sourcing of certified or recycled wool.

FURSAC Sustainability Actions

Joined regenerative wool programme

SMCP is proud to announce the signing of a long-term partnership with Chargeurs Luxury Fibers as part of a regenerative agriculture program conducted in Uruguay. Through this project, SMCP will support the transition of several farms toward regenerative sheep farming practices, promoting soil restoration, biodiversity preservation, support for local communities, and respect for animal welfare. The wool sourced from these farms will be used by the Group’s brands to create traceable pieces, under the NATIVA™ Regen label.

Used certified or recycled wool

In 2024, 59% of the wool used by the Group was either certified under the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) or recycled.

Created sustainability committee

Since 2023, a Sustainability Committee was created within the Board of Directors to strengthen the consideration of societal and environmental issues in the Group’s governance.
