Tal Apparel Sustainability Commitments
2022
Set net-zero science targets
In 2022, TAL said it committed to setting net-zero science-based targets through the Science Based Target initiative, often called SBTi. Science-based targets are emissions goals that follow climate science. TAL says this work includes cutting its own emissions and also helping suppliers lower their scope 1 and 2 emissions, which are the direct emissions from a company and the emissions from purchased energy.
2025
Raise Higg FEM scores
TAL says it has a plan to raise average factory Higg FEM scores to 80 in 2025. The Higg FEM is a factory environmental scoring tool used in the apparel sector. TAL says this target is part of a wider effort to keep improving environmental management across its factories.
